Welcome to SOKY Driving School. We are Certified Driver Training School 148 Licensed by the Kentucky State Police.
We can help any age prepare for the permit test and train any age with a valid permit on the road. We also offer training to anyone with a license that just needs a little more training.

How do the road lessons work?
- Click on the SCHEDULE LESSONS box
- Choose your dates and start times on the calendar
- Pay online ($125 (plus tax) per lesson)
- You will receive a confirmation email.
- We will call you to confirm the appointment and discuss any special needs or concerns.
- We will pick the student up or meet at the office at the scheduled time.
- Each road lesson lasts 2 hours.
- Lessons include city driving, backing, parking, merging, turnabouts, roundabouts, road rules, observation, interstate driving and defensive driving skills.(the skills included in your lesson will depend on your ability to complete each skill in a timely manner)
- We will return the student at the end of the appointment and send a follow-up email detailing their training.
How do the classroom lessons work?

- Pay online ($79.00 (plus tax) per class)
- You will receive a confirmation email.
- Please arrive at our classroom at 290 Porter Pike 15 minutes prior to the scheduled class start time.
- The classes teach rules of the road, best driving practices, safety tips, the Kentucky points system for drivers and in depth knowledge to help the student pass the written exam and be a safe and courteous driver on the road.
- Each class lasts 2 hours.
Can I use the school’s car for the driving exam?
- The short answer is - Yes.
- You must have at least 1 previous lesson in the car prior to scheduling your road test.
- You must demonstrate satisfactory skills to pass the road test.
- You must schedule a road lesson ($125 plus tax) that corresponds with your scheduled road test.
- If you schedule your road test and we do not have an open lesson time that corresponds with that time, please call and we will make every effort to accommodate your schedule If possible.
Licensed 21 year old
Everyone who holds a valid instructors permit must have a licensed driver that is 21 years of age or older with them at all times while operating a motor vehicle.
We understand that is not always possible for everyone to workout at the time they are scheduled to test.
Please call us at 270-936-4828 to check our availability to accompany you to the test site as your licensed 21 year old for a prepaid fee of $89.00 plus tax.
